As photographers, our passion lies in capturing the essence of diversity through the lens of my camera. The group of portraits that we present showcases individuals of different ethnicities, ages, and genders, each one unique in their own right. Through the use of multiple colored gels and a shape on the subjects’ skin created from using a light projector, we have aimed to create a visual representation of diversity, color theory, and technology.
The composition of each portrait is deliberately distinct, to bring out the individuality of each subject. By experimenting with lighting techniques, we have sought to capture the essence of each person, highlighting their strengths and differences. The use of colored gels adds a layer of complexity to the images, creating an intriguing interplay of light and shadow that draws the viewer in.
The shapes projected onto the skin of each subject add a further layer of complexity to the portraits.
